East 72nd Street Luxury Residential Project Enters Construction Phase

Drefin Investments, Inc. has awarded the Construction Management contract for the Conversion of the Historic Lycee Francais de New York to the I. Grace Company, a construction company that specializes in high-end residential construction in select national markets such as New York City. As the Architect for the project, RBSD made recommendations to the Client during the selection process to help move this prestigious endeavor forward to the construction phase.

Through extensive renovations of two adjacent historic buildings on East 72nd Street, the Conversion of the Lycee Francais de New York will create the largest single-family residence in Manhattan. RBSD provided the architectural planning and design that will transform these two 19th century buildings, which were most recently configured to serve as a unique private school, into an opulent modern home. To achieve the project's luxurious interior appearance, the firm worked closely with one of the most celebrated interior designers in the world, Paris-based Alberto Pinto, who designed the palatial interiors of the residence.

Now that the Construction Management contract has been awarded, construction is anticipated to begin in the Spring. RBSD will provide construction administration assistance for the duration of the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2010.
