·        Architecture in Education

 

This organization brings architects, landscape architects and other design professionals into classrooms to help young people understand what it takes to make buildings and communities work for the people who live in them. The site provides sample lessons, and dates for seminars and classes.

 

·         Schools and Educational Institutions
Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE)

 

The CAE is a group of architects and professionals who are concerned with the quality and design of Environments for Learning. The committee identifies Environments for Learning issues and strives to strengthen collaborative efforts with allied organizations and the public. The site provides updates on CAE progress, events, and articles.

 

·        Adaptive Environments

 

A non-profit, educational organization, Adaptive Environments works to promote designs that enhance human experience. The site provides universal design information and resources, including a Checklist For Existing Facilities, and articles for building environments that enhance human experience.

 

·        The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI)

 

An organization dedicated to advocating for excellence in Environments for Learning. The site offers current news in the industry, resources such as Crisis Planning, State Indoor Air Quality standards, and relevant publications.

 

·        Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS)

 

The CHPS site, although based out of California, provides school designer resources such as training materials on daylighting, indoor air quality, materials, electric lighting and HVAC. Also available is a list of the characteristics of high performance high school design.

This site for educators offers insightful articles that deal with issues such as facilities, construction, and architecture of Environments for Learning.
