Client: The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York , Albany, NY
Completed in January, 2009, the new $153 million, 300,000-square-foot Behavioral Health Center at Kings County Hospital Center consolidates behavioral health services, which had previously been housed in eight separate buildings on the 44-acre campus, into one new state-of-the-art building. Designed by RBSD, the new Behavioral Health Center provides a seamless, comforting, secure environment for patients as they transition from inpatient to outpatient programs on their way to recovery. RBSD's exterior design is aesthetically compatible with the site, context, character, and color of the existing Kings County Hospital Center, and creates an attractive, welcoming image that reflects the hospital's commitment to serving its Brooklyn neighborhood. |
