Client: The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Jamaica, NY
The Pediatric Emergency component of the East Addition project expands the existing facility and creates a private, child-friendly emergency care unit. The interior features a playful tropical forest motif with carefully selected, universally appealing animal symbols in each cubicle. The distinctive design plays out into the structure, with tree-like support columns and serpentine waiting area benches. The entrance and waiting areas are separate from the adult ER and provide calm and ease for the special needs of pediatric patients and their families. |
